The courier is responsible for pickup, transfer and delivery of medical specimens and records from the labs and practice offices. 


Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent


Experience: 1 year of Courier Driving Experience, 1 year of Customer Service


Certifications & Licenses: Valid Drivers’ License

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or fell objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.  The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20 pounds.  Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Drive a company vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
  • Safely transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmacy items, interoffice mail and related material in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate a safe and courteous driving behavior.
  • Present a professional image to patients, vendors, employees and the public through appearance and interaction.
  • Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat and orderly company vehicle.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
